The Society has objected to proposals for a new house in the garden of 4 Avenue Road. We do not consider that the application meets the requirements of Conservation Area policy in this particularly sensitive location, but we have made some suggestions that might point the way to designing an acceptable, even commendable, alternative. Proposal for 500 homes on the lower slopes of the Little Skirrid
In December 2024 we decided to oppose an otherwise welcome development plan proposal for 500 homes on the lower slopes of the Little Skirrid unless a free-flowing crossing of the A465 and the railway is provided for pedestrians, cyclists and mobility scooters to reach the town.
We now know that the Inspectors’ Examination of the plan will be considering this matter in July and we will soon be deciding whether and how to present our updated views based on information we have received since 2024.
